Welcome to our very first blog post! This is a great place to start if you are just trying to work out who Deakin CU is and what we’re on about or even for those of you who are a little more familiar to get a good reminder.
At Deakin CU we have a mission; if you spend any time with us you’ll hopefully hear us talking about it using some key words: ‘connect’ ‘grow’, & ‘stand’.
Our mission on campus is to help people at Deakin (Burwood): Connect with Jesus, Grow in Jesus, and Stand for Jesus.
We’ll unpack what we mean by each of these words in the next few posts – but for now we hope that you notice that it’s all about Jesus.
That is, the mission on Campus – the core part of who we are and what we do – is all about Jesus Christ.
Now you don’t need to be a Christian to be involved with us (in fact, probably about a quarter of the people we hang out with in a week are not yet Christian) but you do need to know that as a group our key feature is that we talk about Him, consider what it means both in our own lives and for the world that he is Jesus Christ the Lord. And we love to help other people do the same.
Deakin CU is all about Jesus.
